Because really, isn't that one of the bests posts to read? I always enjoy getting new suggestions of products or recipes or activities, so without further ado:
These two goobers are always my favorites.
First up, two of my current favorite recipes (because honestly, who doesn't love good food?!). The first is one of my go-to crock pot meals, as it is crazy easy. Throw five or six frozen chicken breast in the crock pot, add a jar of salsa verde, and let it cook on low for the day! By dinner time, all you have to do is shred the chicken (super easy since it's been in liquid all day), and you're ready to go for tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas- whatever! I usually make a chicken/cheese/avocado quesadilla for Monster, and give Monkey the shredded chicken with sliced avocado- since it's made with salsa verde, it's not too spicy to give the boys (and if the 1 and 3 year olds approve, I generally call it a win!).
My other current favorite is a new one- peanut butter French toast! My sister has been telling me to try this forever, and I finally did last night. French toast is one of those meals that I am never ready to put together in the morning, so we did breakfast for dinner instead. Just make a peanut butter sandwich, toss it in your egg mixture (I add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to mine), and fry it up in the skillet. Sooo good! I'm not a huge fan of syrup, so I always sprinkle my French toast with powdered sugar- looks fancy and tastes glorious.
Speaking of breakfast, I'm not a huge fan. I mean, I love breakfast food, but if it comes down to it, I would much rather spend that extra 15 minutes sleeping in the morning. However, one thing I rarely skip out on in the morning is coffee. For Christmas last year, Mr. Ukena gave me a Keurig (and himself, really, but I'm cool with sharing). Since then, I think my coffee intake has probably tripled (yay caffeine!). I don't know if any of you are big fans of iced coffee like me, but I have found the best (IMO) K-cup for iced coffee! Starbucks has it out and it's "specially formulated" for iced brewing... Which basically means that it's got a stronger flavor. I love, love, love it. Now all I have to do is throw some ice in my extra large mason jars, brew my coffee, and add some creamer. Delish. [side note: the lid and straw combination is just one from Walmart by the canning supplies. I think I've gotten three or four packages this summer, but we all use them!]
As I've spent the last few weeks at camp, I've taken about a million notes in my bible. I know, I know. Lots of people are probably freaking out that I write in my bible- but I love it! Helps me remember different things that have been discussed in classes or sermons, and the bright colors just make me happy. [if you're wondering, yes, that is the teen study bible that I've been using for over a decade. It's my favorite, and it breaks my heart that the binding is wearing out] Anyway- these pens are the absolute greatest for bible writing. They don't bleed through the pages, but I can see it on the other side- my pages are super thin, and I can also see pencil marks if I go that route. They come in a ton of colors, so I've been able to make a key for different events in the front cover.

Pens of course lead me to talking about school supplies! Am I the only one that does a little dance when I see the workers putting out the supplies in stores? Yes? Oh.. anyway. I'm always on the hunt for new planners and notebooks, because I can't help myself. This is the planner I went with for this year- lots of space, and the weekly pages are big enough that I can take notes for myself, too.
I also opted for this notebook. I love having 5-subject notebooks for the different things I'm involved in, and this one lets you move the tabbed folders! Genius!
While I was school shopping, I saw this candle and couldn't stop myself. Fall + Pumpkins? The. Best. By the way, I'm a huge fall lover. I am pretty sure the calendar should say that fall begins July 5th- because really, waiting until September takes entirely too much self control.
If you noticed the blue and red dress I had a million pictures of in my last post, then you got to see another favorite of mine. LuLaRoe is a clothing company that I've fallen in love with! I don't sell it, but several girls are local that sell it, plus a bunch do on IG as well. All their stuff is made with super comfortable material, it holds up well, fits fantastically (I don't have a whole lot of shape to my body, so when I find something that I like the fit of, it's a big deal), and is modest! As a mom of little guys and a middle school teacher, I'm always looking for dress clothes that fit both parts of my life- these are dresses and leggings that I can wear to work and look professional (but fun!), but also wear at home and be comfortable. The clothes range in designs and prints from fun to crazy, but I think that finding original pieces is part of the joy with shopping. :)
Alright all, it's time that I head on out to enjoy some NCIS with the hubs (two more favorites ;) ha!).
